Media literacy workshops

The primary aim of the workshops was to give an insight into available data and expert-driven tools and technology that can be used to counter everyday disinformation across print and digital media.The workshop aimed at creating a platform to understand the threat of disinformation, identifying best practices and impart sufficient knowledge to empower a wider community that is capable of identifying disinformation in the media space and increasing their media literacy capacities. 

This counter disinformation workshop was titled ‘Who’s Lying Now? Identifying and Countering Disinformation’, and its first edition was held online in German and parallel one in English on the 10th and 11 of May 2023 between 13:00-15:00 CET on both days. The second edition was held online on 13th and 14th of November 2023 between 17:30-19:30 CET on both days. The third edition was held online on 05th and 06th of March 2024 between 17:30-19:30 CET on both days followed by the fourth edition held online on 14th and 19th March March 2024 between 18:00-20:00 CET on both days. The first edition of the workshop was conducted in both English and German languages to focus on specific countries such as Germany, Belgium and Austria.

The workshop was hosted by the senior team from Alliance4Europe that already carried with them multiple years of experience engaging in the civic tech field by collaborating with various global stakeholders in identifying optimal solutions to countering disinformation.
